It is currently available on Apple’s App Store. You can download it via iTunes, iPhone or iPod Touch. When the app is loaded on your device, simply swipe left to right to select a theme, double tap to see all the available settings. If you have any questions, post it here and we will be happily answer them all.Any suggestions and feedback are more than welcome. It will help us to improve our app.NOTE: Theme Clock works on the iPhone and iPod Touch with iPhone OS 2.0. Great ! But can we have others themes : like flip maybe ?

    Thanks for your post!

We did have a few more themes designed, including a flip clock, but we only selected 9 due to limitation of the memory on the devices. So far we haven’t seen any clocks manage to have more than 6 themes that are very different running on devices up to iPhone 3G.

However, we are now considering it for the iPhone 3GS.

I love the app, as the previous app I was using for this would not allow the native alarm to work. I do however, have a problem with the auto-lock off- it does not seem to work. The iphone goes dim and when I wake up from sleep, I have to remember to hit the button. This defeats the purpose of the app for me. If this is fixed, 5 stars from me.

    Hi Pitcaver,

Can you tell us what OS you are using? We have tested the app on OS 3.0 on the iPhone 3G and we didn’t have a problem with the auto-lock off feature.

An updated version V1.1.2 of Theme Clock (Free) has been uploaded and waiting for approval. This version has been tested on both the 3G and 3GS. If everything goes well on the approval process, it should be on the app store within 2-3 days.

    Hi,
Great product! I have a request though, I put my beloved iPhone in a cradle, and would like to have the option to start the clock in portrait mode and keep it there, so it looks cool in the cradle. Otherwise, I have to start the app, remove the phone from the cradle, and (seemingly) slap the phone around to make it go into portrait mode.

    Thanx!

    Don

    Hi,
Also, can you have an option to make it override the screensaver?

    Thanx,

    Don

    Anna Says:

    Hi Don,

Thanks for your comment. It always feel good when people like our product! :)

Are you using OS 3.0? There is a bug that the clock won’t rotate to portrait mode if it starts in that mode. With the updated version (V1.1.2) of the app, which should be available on the app store very soon, you should be able to rotate your iPhone to landscape then back to portrait again to do what you want. We are in the process of fixing this bug so the clock can start in portrait mode. This fix should be released in V1.1.3.

Unfortunately it is not possible for any apps from the app store to override the screen saver (assuming you mean when your iPhone is locked) for security reasons by Apple. This is one of the very-nice-to-have features that you can see on other phones, just not the iPhone and iPod Touch unfortunately!

    Hi,
Thanx for the promt reply, it means a lot. You need to take a look at an app calle Clock! by GoldenPlum, it overrides the screensaver, meaning when you start the app the screensaver never comes on.

    Thanx,

    Don

    Oops, yes I have a 3G S with the 3.0 software…..

    Anna Says:

It seems you mean override the screensaver the same as the auto-lock feature? The auto-lock feature seems to be not working for the OS 3.0 for some people (though when we tested it on 3 of our iPhones, including the 3GS, and it seems fine). When you updated to V1.1.2, go to the settings and turn auto-lock off. This should prevent the phone’s screen turning off.

Let me know if this answers your question. If not, please explain a bit more and what settings did you have for Clock! to enable screensaver override feature. We’ll take a look.

Also, just FYI, if you have to make it a paid app, I will pay the buck or so for it, it is that good….

    Don Stevens Says:

OK, I am up to speed with the Auto-Lock feature that is in the settings, sorry, it does work to keep the clock on all the time. But I still need to have it start out in protrait mode. Great job to all BTW!

    Thanx,

    Don

    Anna Says:

Thanks Don. This app was meant to be a paid app. The original release date was delayed for 3 months (long story!) and in the end we were advised to release it for free.

It meant a lot to us that some people, like yourself, can recognise and appreciate the work we’ve done. We have invested quite a bit of effort and money into making this app. Though we are not making any money from it, the fact that we have now reached more than a million downloads is quite satisfying.

We’ll let you know as soon as we fixed the bug with starting in portrait mode.

Thanks for creating such a cool looking app. Very intuitive interface – the best I’ve seen. I love the landscape Options screen and living in Australia, I appreciate the localised date display. Can I please suggest a couple of improvements in my wishlist…

    - Optional seconds display
    - Option to ‘favourite’ your preferred themes, so you can flick through your favoutites at will, without having to go through the entire list.
    - A feature of another clock app I like (Alarm Night Clock Lite – Hana Mobile) is a flash-light (bright screen).

    Great job.

    Thanks,
    Dan.
